In ancient times, there were no distinctions between astronomers and astrologers; both studied the lore of the heavens, creating myths while tracking time, seasons, and the movements of the sky.
 
In this class, we will travel back in time to discover the cultural myths behind the tropical zodiacal constellations and the planets in our solar system. We will explore the history of astronomy to learn how people navigated by the stars, kept records of time, and admired the beauty of the cosmos. Throughout the course, we will also follow the "sidereal show" via the Moon, our closest and ever-changing companion.
 
To bring these concepts to life, students will participate in several hands-on crafts and art projects, including constructing a compass and studying various calendars and zodiacs.
My goal is for the children to learn to follow the stars that have been present since the beginning of time, providing a meaningful way to reconnect with both the people of the past and those of the future.
