What was everyday life like during wartime? Students will discover rationing, victory gardens, propaganda, factories, and the experiences of children and families.

Students will learn about the Holocaust and the persecution of Jewish people and other targeted groups through age-appropriate historical sources, with an emphasis on understanding, remembrance, and human dignity.

Discover how intelligence, codebreaking, airplanes, ships, radar, and other technologies influenced the war.

Learn about leaders, soldiers, resistance members, scientists, journalists, and ordinary civilians whose experiences help us understand the era.

How did the war end, and how did it change the world? Students will explore the creation of the United Nations, the reshaping of Europe, and the beginnings of the postwar world.
 
This class combines history, geography, discussion, research, and creative projects. Students may create wartime maps and timelines, analyze historical photographs and documents, solve historical mysteries, investigate primary sources, and participate in thoughtful discussions.
