Do you love learning about historical figures?

In this class, students will explore real-life stories through biography reading and then turn the spotlight on themselves by writing their own autobiographies.

Using popular middle-grade biography series like Who Was…? Students will be amazed at how ordinary people can do extraordinary things—and learn how to tell their own stories in meaningful ways.

Each week, students will choose an read at their own pace different  biography from our library.

They should be ready to discuss the interesting facts they have learned with the class the following week, focusing on key moments, challenges, and accomplishments in an historical figure’s life.

They’ll learn how authors organize real-life stories, build strong paragraphs, and highlight important details. Then, students will apply those same techniques to writing their own autobiographies.

Through fun prompts, guided writing, and creative projects, students will reflect on their own experiences, interests, and goals, inspiring children to write about themselves.
