In this class, we’ll dive into some of the world’s most talked about paintings and learn how to “see” what’s happening on the canvas! Each week we’ll look at a new artwork and explore questions like: What do you think the artist wanted to show? How does the painting make you feel? What details do you notice that tell a story? We’ll talk about colors, expressions, and hidden clues the artist left behind. After discussions and observations, we’ll recreate a famous painting in the style of that artist, using different mediums such as pastels, colored pencils, paint and more.
 
This class helps students learn to observe closely, think creatively, and share their ideas about art with others. By the end, students will feel confident in exploring any painting they see and finding meaning in the details. Get ready to step inside some amazing artwork!
