This class is crafted especially for middle school students and aims to unfold the many layers of democracy in a comprehensive and engaging way.
We will follow the significant 2024 elections, encouraging students to understand the current political climate and its historical implications. My own path to citizenship affords me the clarity, the undertanding and the openess to put aside political opinions that would not serve this class.
 
We will talk about what it truly means to be an active and responsible citizen, enriching their understanding of civic duties and societal contributions. 
 
We will analize the critical role of political parties and their impact on governance, policy making, and the general functioning of democratic systems. 
 
We will discuss  in-depth the essence of freedom, what it means in various contexts, and the importance of safeguarding democratic values. 
 
My aim is to help children grasp the fundamentals of democracy, enabling them to understand and actively participate in democratic processes with confidence and knowledge, and hopefully we can cultivate a community of well-informed and engaged future citizens who are ready to take on the responsibilities of fostering and sustaining a vibrant democracy.
