This is a continuation from Fall semester and will cover new material. Please note that it is not necessary to have been in the class during Fall semester.
In this course, students will explore stories beginning well before California's statehood and into the present day, with a focus on the stories and perspectives of groups and individuals that have been marginalized and faced great adversity. Learning history can be thrilling and life-changing when we can make personal connections with the people we are learning about! We will explore the idea that individuals can make a difference, and can become agents of change by challenging prejudice, exclusion, and injustice in our communities.
